Ingredients:
4 cups water
1 cup black elderberries
2 TBSP ginger (grated) or  1 tsp powder
2 TBSP fresh Turmeric (grated) or 1 tsp dry
1 tsp cinnamon or 1 whole stick
1/2  whole cloves
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 cup raw organic honey

Method:
Pour the water into a medium saucepan and add the elderberries, ginger,
cinnamon, and cloves.
Bring to a boil and then cover and reduce to a simmer for about 30-45 minutes.

Remove from heat and let it steep for one hour.

This is optional: If you have Elderberry Flowers in your possession you can add them to the pot at this point and let them steep for one hour.

Strain and discard the elderberries and the rest of the ingredients.

Place back on the heat and reduce the strained liquid by half.
Remove from heat and let it cool.

When it is no longer hot, add the honey and stir well.

When the honey is well mixed into the elderberry mixture, pour the syrup into a mason jar or glass bottle of some kind.Done. You just made homemade elderberry syrup! Store in the fridge and take daily for its immune boosting properties. Lasts about 2 weeks.
Tips: You can add more flavor to your syrup when cooking. I recommend using spices such as vanilla or cardamon.
