Vegan Cacao Frosty Shot

Raia's Cacao Shot Recipe

One of my daily-favorite go-to summer drinks is my Frosty-Cacao Shot.  I enjoy it daily around 3-4pm when I am looking for a mid day boost that will keep me alert and energized for the rest of the day.
This drink is THE prefect replacement for coffee, and is treasured for its deliciously energizing effects.

This recipe can be adapted to your liking by simply adding other Superfoods such as lucuma or alternate sweeteners, and spices like cinnamon, or cayenne. However I love this version, for it reminds me of the classic chocolate “milkshake” -but so much better! And vegan too!

Ingredients:

3/4 cup Raw Cashews (soaked for at least an hour)
4 full TBS Raw Cacao Powder
6-7 TBS Coconut Sugar (Or Maple to Taste)
1 TBS Maca (optional)
2 TBS Coconut Oil
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1 1/4 cups cold water
Pinch of Salt
Dash of cayenne (optional)

Method:
Place all ingredients (except for the ice) in a blender, and blend until smooth and creamy.

Next, add 12-14 good size ice cubes and blend until a smooth consistency is achieved. You can add more or less ice depending on preference. We serve it up cold, smooth and creamy thick! You can adjust the ice, but make sure you don’t dilute the rich chocolate flavor.
